8"x8" Automatic Mold Installation on a JY350-ST
8"x8" Automatic Mold Installation
This mold is a standard 8x8 mold with holding ledges on the upper A mold and lower C mold.
Install the mold by:
- Examine the mold and check screws to make sure they are tight and that there is no damage to the internal cavities of the mold. If there is any confusion make sure to elevate it to management to look at. We do not want to shoot a mold that is going to produce bad parts.
- Look at the bottom of the mold and what level the ejector plate is at. Use a M10 screw inserted into the ejector pin to set the level of the ejector to be just below the plate. It should not touch or cause the ejector pins to rise when installed in the machine.
- Installi a 1/8 stick in the nozzle and carefully lining up the mold such that the sprue hole is aligned with the injector.
- Remove the stick from the injector nozzle.
- Lower the upper platen down to the mold top.
- Using clamps secure the upper and lower molds so they are attached to the upper and lower platen.
- Clean off the injector nozzle and lower it to the top of the mold.
- On the "Mold Open/Close" page check the level at which the upper platon is and set the LOWP-Place to that value plus 0.2. In the picture below it shows 155 in the upper right (the mold is not closed here, it is open, but if it was closed it would be close to 63.4).
- Done
NOTE: In all of the mold listings there will be a configuration for the MOLD Open/Close Set page. Always check that the mold closed is correct. That is, install the mold and close the mold. The value in the LOWP/Place cell should be .1 above where the mold position indicates (in the upper right where it says MoveMould). This is important because this is where the clamping pressure increases. If it is set too high the mold will switch to a higher pressure to close the mold early and smash it. If it is set too low, it will never enter the high pressure clamping mode and you will see flashing.
